An Osogbo High Court on Wednesday kicked-off the charges on
27-year-old man, Festus Oyetola, for allegedly raping two women at the
same time. The defendant, who was accused of raping one Oluwafikayo and
Christiana, was also accused of robbing eight other persons.
According to the charge sheet, the accused, together with other members of his gang, who are at large, committed the offence at Moro in Osun State on November 27, 2012. The prosecutor told the court that Oyetola was armed when he raped the two women.
He was charged with robbing eight victims, raping two women and indecent assault.
The offences were said to be contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code, Vol. II, Law of Federation of Nigeria; and Cap 34, Vol. II, Law of Osun State.
The accused pleaded not guilty and the presiding judge, Justice Eunice Awolalu, adjourned the case till April 13, 2016.
