FG Begins Verification Of Federal Roads Executed By States – Minister of Works,Power and Housing Disclosed

The federal government has concluded plans to begin the verification and probe on claims of funds spent on federal roads by the various state governments, the Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has disclosed.
Fashola, who spoke in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, said President Muhammadu Buhari has put in place an inter-ministerial committee to commence the exercise in earnest in furtherance of his anti-corruption crusade.
Towards this end, he added that the federal government has commenced verification of federal roads constructed by Kwara State Government for reimbursement.
He added that the federal government would reimburse Kwara and other states of the federation once their claims were verified.
According to him, “The federal government has identified Jebba-Ilorin road as one of the most strategic economic corridors in Nigeria that require urgent attention. Frantic efforts was been made to restore normalcy to the road in view of its strategic economic nature”.

Mr. Samuel Omosaba, a 42 year-old man, was Tuesday evening arrested by the Police for allegedly beheading his three year-old niece, Adubarin Kola at Ilepa quarters in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East local government area of Ondo State.

 

The suspect, who is jobless and still single was said to have contacted a herbalist in Ipe-Akoko for blood money. It was gathered that the herbalist told him that the only way to make him rich was for him to look for a head of a baby.

The increasing pressure on the naira is caused by high demand for the dollar by importers and speculators, foreign exchange dealers said.

Official Dates And Schedules For JAMB UTME 2016/2017

This year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will begin on February 29, the authorities of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board have announced.
Over one million candidates will sit for examination, which the board said, would last for seven days.
JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed this in an interview with one of our correspondents on Tuesday, added the board would use about 500 Internet-complaint centres in the country for the Computer-based Test.
The examination, he added, would hold in seven other centres outside Nigeria.
According to him, the centres are in the United Kingdom, Ghana, Cameroon, Republic of Benin, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Ethiopia.
