Wicked Grandmother Brutally Beat and Torture 8-year-old with Hot Pot in Ogun (Photo)

The 8-year-old was brutally tortured by the grandmother
 
A heartless grandmother identified as Bosede Adebayo has brutally tortured her 8-year-old grandchild with a pot of hot water for daring to eat rice she cooked and kept in the kitchen without getting permission from her.
 
The wicked woman tortured the victim named Tope Oke inflicting serious injuries to her body. The victim, a primary two pupil of St. James Primary School, Ijeun-Tuntun, Abeokuta, Ogun State has been admitted at the State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta. Adebayo, now in police custody.
 
According to a report by New Telegraph, the woman returned from a party with cooked rice served at the ceremony and kept it in the kitchen, then the grandchild who was very hungry, ate the plate of rice which made the grandmother unleash her anger on the poor girl.
 
She beat her mercilessly before using a hot pot to inflict serious injuries to her body as punishment. Because of the girls loud and painful wailing, neighbours were forced to intervene as they alerted the police and officials of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. 
 
The woman was promptly arrested and taken to the Ibara Police Station, Abeokuta, where arrangements were being made to transfer the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking Department.
 
It was gathered that the Special Adviser to the governor on Women Affairs and Social Development, Adenike Osoba, and a Senior Social Welfare Officer, Mrs. Wonuola Kassim, stormed the police station to monitor the case with a view to pursuing it to a logical conclusion. Osoba told journalists that the action of the suspect was crude and inhuman. According to her, the law will take its course on the matter.
 
She said: “The authority will not fold its arms and condone such illegality or allow anybody to maltreat children or any other person. The victim will also be taken to the ministry’s custody after proper medication.”
 
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident and said the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.
