An Indian man has been accused of kidnapping and raping a female colleague for five days to force her to convert to Islam.
Engineer Syen Emad Hasan, 30, proposed to the 27-year-old woman but she rejected him and said her family would not allow 'an inter-religious marriage', police said.
He harassed her until she cut short a work trip to Dubai. When she returned home to confront Hasan, he abducted her, locked her up at his house and took away her phone.
According to Indian Express, Hasan and the woman, who has not been named, worked together at a Dell computer repairs shop in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Police said
When she left the company and moved to Dubai in August, he 'continued to torture her on social media',
"The woman told us she was forced to talk to Hasan as he showed her photos and videos of them together in Hyderabad, and threatened to send them to her father, said Inspector Ravinder. He [Hasan] also demanded that she send inappropriate photos of her."
When she returned home to Hyderabad to confront him, he snatched her away to his flat in the al-Hasanath colony.
"He took three days' leave and brutalised and sexually assaulted her," said an officer of Hyderabad's 'She Team', a police unit tasked with investigating sexual assault.
"He threatened to continue doing so until she agreed to marry him after converting to Islam. He even threatened to set her on fire and strangle her.
"He took away her phone, passwords of her e-mail, Facebook, and started using them in her name. She was denied access to anybody."
After four days of captivity, the woman managed to get onto Facebook when Hasan was out and messaged her friend.
Her friend contacted her brother in the South western city of Karnataka, who made the 280 mile journey to Hyderabad and alerted the police. Police found the woman locked in a bathroom in a state of shock with severe injuries to her head and face.

The federal government has pegged the approved pump price of petrol at N86 beginning from the first day of 2016.
The Federal Government, through the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), on Tuesday 29/12/2015 approved new pump prices of petrol starting from January 1 to March 31, 2016 under a revised pricing template.
The agency also announced the approval of the first quarter 2016 petrol import allocation of three million metric tonnes to the NNPC and other oil marketers.
Under the new pricing template, the government approved two pump prices – one for the retail outlets of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), which will sell at N86 a litre, and another for retail outlets operated by private business concerns in the downstream petroleum sector, which will dispense at N86.50 a litre.
The Executive Secretary of the PPPRA, Farouk Ahmed, disclosed this to journalists in Abuja. He said NNPC was expected to sell petrol at N86 per litre to customers at its retail outlets, while other operators would sell at N86.50k per litre.
He said both open market prices reflect a drop of N1 and 50k respectively from the current official price of N87 per litre, which will no longer obtain after December 31.
Ahmed added that the announcement followed the approval granted by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, for the implementation of the revised template.
Although the PPPRA boss was silent on whether the government would still subsidise petrol, he noted that the new template would be reviewed quarterly with respect to the price of crude oil in the international market.

Two Egypt Policemen Bag 25-year Jail Term For Torturing Citizen to Death
An Egyptian Court has on Saturday sentenced two policemen to 25 years in prison for torturing and beating a citizen to death at a police station in Tanta city of Gharbiya province northwest of the capital, Cairo.
The court said it had previously sentenced the two policemen to one year in jail for torturing and injuring another citizen at the same police station.
A security source said that the case dated back to the arrest of two criminals with theft records and during their interrogation they were subjected to torture that left one of them dead and the other wounded.
The source added that the verdict against the two policemen would be appealed. Egypt had recently witnessed a number of police torture cases, some of which resulted in deaths. That has led to the uproar of human rights groups who accused the police of brutality.
President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, and the Interior Ministry, in their responses, referred to them only as "individual cases" and not a general police behavior, stressing that the perpetrators would be punished.

"This really breaks my heart...... And inspires me at the same time....... The Muslim community decided to come together and pray in front of the #TrumpTowers in NYC - Open note to Trump.... He has no idea of what's about to happen......... He has mastered the art of winning #Battles..... But he's for sure going to lose the #War.... The antics and the gimmicks look good and feel good right? Got you really thinking your doing it right?
......... But when it's really time? #WATCH America show you how we #REALLY feel...... And we're not talking about manipulated pole numbers....... United we stand.... Together we fall...... You've offended my #Muslim community, and created racial boundaries and set my people up for hate crimes and to be targeted for bigotry because of the "acts" of some.... Islam is PEACE..... THE ACTS OF SOME of ANY GROUP doesn't justify you spreading hate towards ALL of my people in the Muslim and or Arab community.... I'm deeply hurt and bothered by your antics and hatred towards my Muslim and Arab people.... You've offended my Latin community, you've offended my african American community - You will see........ This is NOT how you make America great again...... This is for sure the most narcissistic self and family sabotage filled presidential campaign I've ever witnessed in my lifetime....... It's going to take forever for your daughter who I think is brilliantly smart to recover from the land mines......... I feel bad for anyone in this country right now with the last name #Trump - when it's all said and done and the smoke clears.... You will remember what I said....... This is NOT how you make America great again...... I'm speaking on behalf of the #Human and all religious and spiritual and sexual preferences you must be and will be stopped - #VotesDontLie the real people of America is going to show up and stop you when it counts the most... #votingday
